Following SSU’s investigation, head of Kharkiv District Administrative Court to spend 5 years behind bars
The SSU has collected irrefutable evidence proving the guilt of another high-ranking official involved in systemic corruption in state institutions.
The offender is the head of Kharkiv District Administrative Court, who set up a criminal mechanism to receive money for making decisions in favor of plaintiffs.
According to the investigation, in September 2020 she offered a bribe to her subordinate, a judge who was considering an administrative case of a company representative.
In exchange for USD 3,000, the head of court demanded to make a decision in a land dispute in favour of the entrepreneur.
The same year, the SSU, together with the NABU and the SAPO, detained the head of Kharkiv District Administrative court at her workplace when she received the entire amount of the bribe.
In May 2021, the Supreme Council of Justice temporarily suspended the judge in connection with the case.
Subsequently, based on the SSU’s investigation, the High Anti-Corruption Court found the accused guilty under the Article 369.3 of the CCU (providing an unlawful benefit to an official) and sentenced her to 5 years in prison with ban to hold a judge’s position for 3 years.
The SSU carried out the investigation jointly with the NABU under the supervision of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
