Following SSU’s investigation, two russian agents sentenced to 8 years behind bars
The SSU continues to bring to justice members of the FSB’s intelligence networks.
As a result of operational and investigative activities, the SSU collected irrefutable evidence proving the guilt of another two russian agents.
The enemy accomplices were collecting intelligence on location and movement of Ukrainian Defence Forces in the frontline areas of Donetsk region.
The SSU Counterintelligence detained both agents as a result of a special operation in July last year.
Following the SSU’s investigation, court sentenced them to 8 years of imprisonment.
According to the investigation, the enemy agents were two former colleagues from Sloviansk. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, they were recruited by the FSB to conduct reconnaissance and sabotage in the region.
First, the aggressor’s attention was drawn to a woman who was actively spreading her pro-kremlin views in the banned social networks.
Later, she involved her former colleague in cooperation with the enemy.
To communicate with the russian special service, they used a prearranged anonymous Telegram channel.
Based on the collected evidence, court found both accused guilty.
The SSU emphasizes the inevitability of punishment for crimes against Ukraine’s state security.
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
