Following SSU’s investigation, another russian state duma member, who voted for ‘L/DNR’ recognition, convicted to 15 years in prison
The SSU has collected irrefutable evidence proving the guilt of Anton Tkachov, a member of russia’s state duma, who contributed to unleashing of a full-scale war against Ukraine.
The MP positions himself as the ‘new face’ of the kremlin regime and fully supports the aggressive policy of russia’s top military and political leadership.
For this, he was appointed to the state duma committee on information policy.
According to the investigation, on 15 February 2022, the official supported a resolution to appeal to russia’s president to recognize the ‘independence’ of the occupied parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
On 22 February, Tkachov voted in favour of the ratification of the ‘agreement on friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance’ between the aggressor state and the terrorist organizations ‘L/DNR’.
Subsequently, the kremlin used these decisions as a formal pretext to launch a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
In this way, the state duma member contributed to the implementation of moscow’s criminal plan to capture Ukraine.
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, the court found Tkachov guilty under Article 110.3 of the CCU (encroachment on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability) and sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Since the convict is currently in russia, the sentence will begin on the day of his actual detention.
The SSU Ivano-Frankivsk Office carried out the investigation under the supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
