Following SSU’s investigation, traitor who ‘gave up’ volunteer unit commander to occupiers sentenced to 15 years behind bars
As the result of SSU investigators’ efforts, another traitor has been convicted to a real term of imprisonment. During the temporary occupation of part of Kyiv region, he provided the enemy with information on location of resistance movement members, in particular fighters of a local self-defense unit.
The criminal was detained in Kyiv region during an operation of the SSU Counterintelligence in April this year.
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, court sentenced him to 15 years in prison.
According to the investigation, the enemy accomplice is a local resident, who at the beginning of the full-scale invasion joined a local self-defense unit in one of the villages of Brovary district.
However, when the village was captured, he immediately defected to the occupiers and began to collaborate with them. The man ‘leaked’ to ruscists the addresses of villagers who resisted the invaders.
It was on his ‘tip’ that the aggressors kidnapped the commander and members of the self-defense unit, to which the traitor had previously belonged.
The kidnapped persons were subjected to violence and death threats. Russian servicemen blindfolded the victims, put them to the wall and shot at their feet, imitating execution.
After the liberation of the village, the traitor tried to hide in the area. However, the SSU located and detained him.
Based on the evidence, the court found the accused guilty of high treason committed under martial law (Article 111.2 of the CCU).
The SSU Main Directorate in Kyiv and Kyiv region carried out the investigation under the procedural supervision of Kyiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
