Following SSU’s investigation, court sentences Berdiansk gauleiter to 15 years in prison
The SSU has collected irrefutable evidence proving that the head of Berdiansk occupation administration, Oleksandr Saulenko, had voluntarily collaborated with the enemy.
Based on the SSU’s investigation, the court sentenced him to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Even before the full-scale invasion, the man headed the local branch of the banned ‘union of left forces’ party and publicly expressed his pro-russian views.
After Berdiansk was captured, Saulenko was one of the first to support the invaders and offer them his assistance in the war against Ukraine.
Later, he became member of the traitor Saldo’s inner circle. The latter directly contributed to his appointment as the head of the occupation authority.
In this ‘position’, Saulenko fulfilled moscow’s task of handing over local enterprises to russian monopolies and using the city’s economy for the needs of the aggressor state.
The collaborator also took an active part in organizing the sham referendum and holding ‘celebrations’ of ‘russia day’ in the temporarily occupied Berdiansk district.
In addition, he publicly signed the so-called ‘agreement on cooperation with the government of Tver region (russia)’.
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, the court found the accused guilty under two Articles of the CCU:
- 111.2 (high treason);
- 111-1.5 (collaboration).
Currently, the gauleiter is in the occupied part of southern Ukraine.
Comprehensive measures are taken to bring him to justice for crimes against Ukraine.
The SSU Office in Zaporizhzhia region conducted the investigation under the supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
