Following SSU’s investigation, court sentences traitor to life imprisonment for guiding russian missiles at railway bridges and plants in Lviv oblast
The SSU has collected irrefutable evidence against another russian agent who passed information on locations of the Defence Forces and strategic enterprises in western Ukraine to the enemy.
The aggressor used his data to adjust repeated missile strikes on key transport arteries and industrial facilities in the region.
The SSU Counterintelligence detained the informant in May 2022 as a result of a multi-stage special operation in Lviv oblast.
Based on the findings of the SSU’s investigation, the court sentenced the enemy accomplice to the most severe punishment - life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
According to the investigation, the convict is a Lviv resident, recruited by russian intelligence services after the launch of the full-scale invasion.
The man came to the enemy’s attention because of his activity on pro-kremlin Telegram channels, including Solovyov Live and Kadyrov 95.
To carry out the aggressor’s assignments, the agent personally drove around the region and recorded locations of military facilities and critical infrastructure.
He also collected intelligence on the consequences of enemy air strikes and sent ‘reports’ to occupiers, informing on technical condition of Ukrainian facilities.
Messenger apps were used for communication with the aggressor.
During the searches at the offender’s home, the SSU found the mobile phone which he used for reconnaissance and sabotage activities.
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, the court found the accused guilty of high treason (Article 111.2 of the CCU).
