The SSU has collected irrefutable evidence against another 59 members of the russian state duma who contributed to unleashing of a full-scale war against Ukraine.

On 15 February 2022, they voted in favour of the resolution to appeal to the russian president to recognize the ‘independence’ of the temporarily occupied districts of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.

On 21 February 2022, putin signed the relevant decrees based on the deputies’ appeal.

The next day, russian MPs supported the ratification of the ‘treaty of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance’ between the aggressor state and the terrorist organizations L/DNR.

After that, the terrorist leaders ‘officially’ asked the russian president to provide military assistance in repelling ‘aggression’ contrived by them.

Subsequently, on 24 February, russia launched a full-scale war against Ukraine.

In this way, the russian MPs contributed to the implementation of the kremlin’s plan to attempt and capture Ukraine.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators notified the members of russia’s state duma of suspicion under Article 110.3 of the CCU (encroachment on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability).

The SSU has now completed the pre-trial investigation and submitted indictments to court.

The suspects are facing up to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The measures to bring the offenders to justice for crimes against Ukraine are underway.

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Offices in Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnytsia and Ternopil regions under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
