Following SSU’s investigation, FSB’s mole in Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers will spend 12 years in prison

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv sentenced the chief of unit of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers, who spied for the russian FSB, to 12 years in prison.

The accused was found guilty of treason. In addition to the prison term, the court ordered forfeiture of all property in his possession.

Earlier this year, the SSU exposed russian agent network which included officials of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine.

The traitors passed intelligence to the enemy: from the state of defence capabilities to protection of the state border and personal data of Ukrainian law enforcement officers.

The agents weren’t doing this for free: russian supervisors paid them from USD 2,000 to 15,000 depending on the level of secrecy and importance of collected information.

After the SSU exposed them, the enemy informants confessed to crimes.

The SSU will continue to protect state sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. No traitor will go unpunished!
