Following SSU’s investigation, blogger who left Ukraine and calls on men to hide from conscription declared suspect

The SSU has collected evidence of the unlawful activities of the blogger Myroslav Oleshko.

According to the investigation, he had illegally left Ukraine during the full-scale invasion and is engaged in information and sabotage activities that harm the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The SSU established that Oleshko, after confirming his fitness for military service and being called up to the Territorial Recruitment Center, left the territory of Ukraine in August 2023 using a fake certificate of a military medical commission.

While abroad, he is regularly publishing videos and posts discrediting mobilization to the AFU and calling on Ukrainians to evade military service.

Oleshko has been notified of suspicion in absentia under two Articles of the CCU:

  • 114-1.1 (obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations);
  • 358.4 (use of a knowingly forged document).

The offences are punishable by up to 8 years in prison.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
