SSU investigates Lviv blogger who leaked AFU locations to enemy
The SSU, the National Police and the Prosecutor’s Office have collected evidence of new crimes committed by a Lviv blogger who had been previously suspected of attempting to seize state power in Ukraine.
A few months before the onset of the full-scale war, he incited people to organize mass riots and seize government institutions under the cover of an ‘anti-vaccination movement’.
Being an accused during the full-scale invasion, the blogger continued his anti-Ukrainian activities.
Through his social media accounts, he spread destructive content.
In particular, the ‘activist’ claimed that the russian armed aggression was ‘caused by third countries that provoked’ moscow to a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
During one of his live broadcasts on social media, he publicly announced the exact location of one of the units of Ukrainian defenders, thus endangering them.
In addition, the blogger organized online ‘journalism’ courses, where, among other things, he taught his followers how to counter mobilization in Ukraine.
The cost of the course was UAH 7,000 per student. Upon completion of the training, the ‘trainer’ promised his clients an internationally recognized journalist’s certificate.
Instead of the promised documents, he issued fictitious certificates of a local newspaper that lost its accreditation in the spring this year.
During the searches at the suspect’s home, the SSU found mobile phones and other material evidence of the crimes.
The individual in question was served a notice of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:
- 114-2.2 (unauthorized dissemination of information on the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, committed under martial law);
- 190.1, 190.2 (fraud).
The court is to decide on a measure of restraint. The investigation is ongoing.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Lviv Office jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Lviv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
