Following SSU’s investigation, russian actor from Bandit Petersburg under suspicion for supporting war against Ukraine

The SSU has collected evidence against russian actor Dmitry Pevtsov, who publicly supports russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.

Pevtsov is a member of russia’s state duma and is close to the top military and political leadership of the aggressor state.

According to the investigation, he has repeatedly spoken in support of russian occupiers during mass events attended by putin.

The perpetrator has frequently appeared on air of central russian TV channels, where he called for the seizure of state power and the entire territory of Ukraine.

In the interviews with kremlin propagandists, he spoke about how he had personally voted in favour of recognizing the ‘independence’ of the temporarily occupied parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

The actor has also justified the criminal actions of russian troops and occupation administrations in the temporarily occupied areas of Ukraine.

The SSU-initiated examinations confirmed the facts of his information and subversive activities against Ukraine.

Based on the evidence, the SSU notified Pevtsov of suspicion in absentia under three articles of the CCU:

  • 109.3 (actions aimed at forceful change or overthrow of constitutional order or seizure of state power);
  • 110.2 (encroachment Ukraine’s the territorial integrity and inviolability);
  • 436 (propaganda of war).

The suspect is in russia; efforts are underway to bring him to justice for crimes against Ukraine.

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Vinnytsia region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
