SSU investigates Aksyonov’s associate who recruited Crimean children to ruscist ‘Yunarmiya’
The SSU has documented the crimes of the collaborator Serhii Selimov, former head of the occupation ‘youth policy committee’ in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
While in this ‘position’, Selimov carried out the kremlin’s orders to massively involve local schoolchildren in the russian military organization Yunarmiya (Young Army).
To this end, he headed the Crimean Yunarmiya branch, which prepares recruited children for the war against Ukraine.
In this ‘organization’, russian instructors ideologically indoctrinate schoolchildren against Ukraine, teach them combat tactics, conduct firearms, sabotage and reconnaissance training.
In the spring of 2022, Selimov was transferred to the ‘personnel reserve’ of gauleiter Aksyonov, to another area of subversive activity against Ukraine.
He became one of the kremlin’s local ‘mouthpieces’ publicly supporting putin in the aggressive war.
To spread pro-russian narratives, the collaborator appeared on air of russian TV channels multiple times and published posts on his VKontakte page.
Based on the evidence collected, the SSU notified Selimov of suspicion in absentia under three Articles of the CCU:
- 110.1 (encroachment on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability);
- 111-1.6 (collaboration);
- 436-2.3 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
The suspect is in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine. Efforts are underway to bring him to justice.
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
