SSU notifies head of occupational Sevastopol Prosecutor’s Office of suspicion of treason

Following the SSU investigation, a former employee of the Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Sevastopol was notified of suspicion of treason.

In March 2014, the official defected to the occupational authorities, agreeing to serve as head of Sevastopol Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the investigators, this individual assisted the aggressor state in subversive activities against Ukraine, in particular, facilitated the illegal establishment and functioning of self-proclaimed authorities in the occupied Crimea.

In May 2014, he was appointed the prosecutor of the city of Sevastopol by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation. He had been executing the occupiers’ criminal orders until 2018, when he was sent to serve in the North Caucasus.

The SSU continues to document unlawful activities of individuals who committed crimes against the national security of Ukraine.
