SBU: kidnapper of Revolution of Dignity activists receives notice of suspicion

As a result of the SBU investigation, an offender involved in kidnapping and murder of the Revolution of Dignity participants was served a suspicion notice.

The suspicion notice was issued following investigative actions. In particular, investigators verified involvement of individuals in kidnapping of participants of the Euromaidan rallies, Ihor Lutsenko and Yurii Verbytskyi, from the premises of the Oleksandrivska Clinical Hospital in Kyiv on the night of January 20-21, 2014.

Possible charges include kidnapping, torture, creation of a criminal organization, illegal obstruction of the organization and holding of rallies.

On April 15, 2021, the suspect was detained.

The operation was conducted by officers of the SBU Main Directorate for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime jointly with investigators of the State Bureau of Investigations under the supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
