SBU records help to put on trial Russian senior official
Investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the Security Service of Ukraine, under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s Office, have completed a pre-trial investigation against one of the commanders of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. The criminal case file was referred to the Court.
According to the SBU, the subject of criminal procedure is a Russian citizen who in 2014 held the position of Deputy Commander of the Black Sea Fleet of the Navy (VMF) of the Armed Forces of Russia.
According to the criminal case file the perpetrator:
- incited the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to desert to the enemy Armed Forces of Russia;
- facilitated the invasion of the aggressor state's military;
- contributed to the military occupation of the Crimean Peninsula;
- waged an aggressive war against Ukraine.
He was served suspicion notice for encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, high treason and planning, preparation and waging of an aggressive war.
SBU investigators have completed the work. The case will be referred to the Court.
