Following SSU’s investigation, another 10 ‘l/dnr’ militants convicted to up to 15 years in prison
The SSU continues to bring traitors who voluntarily joined the russian occupation groups to justice.
Following the SSU’s investigation, court sentenced 10 militants of the ‘l/dnr’ terrorist organizations to real terms of imprisonment. The convicts will spend from 13 to 15 years behind bars.
At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, these individuals joined the units of the southern military district of the russian armed forces.
Among them are commanders of assault units, a sniper, a machine gunner and riflemen, who directly participated in fighting against the Defence Forces on Zaporizhzhia direction.
The militants were detained during Ukraine’s counteroffensive.
Most of the fighters were located in a local school, where they arranged their firing positions.
The court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).
Another convict is a commander of a tank crew of the occupation forces, who fired at industrial and social infrastructure facilities in Severodonetsk and Rubizhne, Luhansk region.
The militant was a member of a tank unit of the ‘2nd army corps’, created by the aggressor. Under the russian invaders’ command, he participated in capturing settlements in the east of Ukraine.
The serviceman was taken prisoner during active hostilities near Severodonetsk in June this year.
Based on the collected evidence, court found the accused guilty of crimes under the Articles of the CCU:
- 111.1 (high treason);
- 110.2 (trespass against Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability);
- 260.2 (participation in unlawful armed groups).
The SSU Offices in Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out the pre-trial investigations under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
