Following SSU CI investigation, a so called DNR IAF militant was sentenced to 8 years in prison. The offender was detained while attempting to cross the contact line.

The pre-trial investigation established that the detainee was a member of a tank unit involved in the shelling of Ukrainian military positions.

According to findings, in 2016, he joined the Dyzel group of militants and was appointed a tank mechanic and driver.

The Prymorskyi District Court of Mariupol found the perpetrator guilty of encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine and participation in a terrorist group and IAF.

The operation was carried out by officers of the SSU Main Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the supervision of the Donetsk Region Prosecutor's Office.

The SSU continues exposing and prosecuting individuals involved in crimes against national security.
