The SSU operation has led to conviction of a former head of the State Executive Service of the Main Territorial Department of Justice in Chernihiv region. The court sentenced him to 7 years in prison. The official systematically extorted money from his subordinates.

It was established that the official forced employees to pay him 50% of their bonuses, including those for the implementation of executive proceedings.

The SSU documented that the official extorted and received illegal benefit from the chief of a district unit. In return, he promised to set maximum amounts of bonuses.

In September 2018, the law enforcement detained the suspect when he was leaving a location after receiving a bribe.

The court found the official guilty of committing a crime under Article 368-3 (acceptance of bribe) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, sentenced to imprisonment and deprived him of the civil servant rank.

The court verdict came into force.

The SSU Office in Chernihiv region carried out the operation under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office.
