Transnational smugglers’ case goes to court

SBU investigators in Lviv region have completed the pre-trial investigation into four Turkish citizens attempting to smuggle over 1,000 kilograms of heroin via Ukraine.

The SBU established that the drug dealers developed a step-by-step scheme. Several smugglers were responsible for the delivery of drugs from Pakistan to Ukraine, others - organized the transit to Europe. Under the guise of a batch of rice, the dealers planned to transport heroin to EU countries.

The offenders received suspicion notices of smuggling of narcotics, psychotropic substances, their analogues or precursors; illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotics, psychotropic substances or their analogues.

The SBU filed indictments to court. The offenders are currently held under custody.
