SSU materials help to imprison informant who adjusted russian attacks on Ukrainian Armed Forces units in Dnipropetrovsk region

Owing to the SSU evidence base, another informant of russian special services has faced a real prison term. The offender was collecting intelligence on the logistics location of the Defense Forces in Dnipro region.

Particularly, the alleged sought to identify the coordinates of logistics hubs for military equipment of Ukrainian defenders.

The perpetrator passed the intelligence to the aggressor with the aim of preparing air strikes on Ukrainian targets.

For each completed task, the offender received a monetary reward from the racists.

In spring of 2023, the SSU has detained the suspect within the counter-sabotage operations in the frontline areas.

Given his cooperation with the investigation, the court sentenced the detainee to 8 years and 6 months of imprisonment.

According to the investigation, the russian informant was a resident of the Synelnyk district. After the beginning of the all-out invasion, the alleged, at its own initiative, embarked on publishing photos and videos of the locations of the Defense Forces.

Thus, the spotter came to the attention of the russian special services, which offered him cooperation in favor of the aggressor country for money.

On the grounds of the collected evidence, the court found the offender guilty under Part 3 of Art. 114-2 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information about the sending, movement of weapons, armaments and ammunition to Ukraine, movement, movement or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, committed under martial law).

The investigation was conducted by the SSU in Dnipro region under the procedural supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office.
