Following SSU’s investigation, Ukraine nationalizes assets of OCEAN PLAZA shopping center, which belonged to russian oligarch

Based on the SSU’s investigation, the High Anti-Corruption Court upheld the claim of the Ministry of Justice to transfer shares of the OCEAN PLAZA shopping center, owned by the russian oligarch Arkadiy Rotenberg, to the state.

The value of the seized assets is USD 300 mln.

The investigation established that Rotenberg is a member of the inner circle of russia’s highest military and political leadership and was directly involved in the construction of the so-called ‘Crimean bridge’.

The businessman is also involved in financing industrial production of ammunition for russian occupation forces.

The investigation established that the sanctioned russian oligarch had managed shares in the Kyiv shopping center through controlled commercial entities in Ukraine and abroad.

In this way, he tried to conceal his connection to the Ukrainian assets.

However, the SSU uncovered the scheme and initiated the transfer of 100% of his stake in one of the largest shopping centers in Ukraine to the state.

The SSU carried out the activities under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
