Following SSU investigation, court sentences assistant to head of Kherson occupation administration who called for restoration of Soviet Union
Since russia started its full-scale invasion, the SSU has been investigating over 300 criminal proceedings on the facts of justifying russian aggression against Ukraine and popularizing occupation forces.
In one of such cases, court has sentenced to 5 years in prison the accomplice of the pro-kremlin propagandist Kyril Stremousov, one of the leaders of Kherson occupation administration.
Stremousov’s assistant coordinated informational and subversive activity of an agent network created by the collaborator for the benefit of russian special services.
While in the Prykarpattia, she spun narratives in support of the invaders and spread posts calling for restoration of the Soviet Union.
For maximum coverage, the woman administered anonymous accounts in several social networks, including those banned in Ukraine. Communication with handlers was through secure communication channels.
Her publications were actively reposted by other members of the propaganda network to carry out information sabotage against Ukraine.
The SSU located and detained the agent in Ivano-Frankivsk. During the search, the investigators found her russian passport and computer equipment with evidence of unlawful activity.
In Cherkasy region:
The SSU exposed a local resident who was spreading enemy propaganda through the russian social network Odnoklasniki, banned in Ukraine. In her posts, she supported, popularized the invaders and justified their crimes.
Another enemy accomplice has been declared wanted. He is a resident of a regional center, who publicly called on people to join ranks of the occupying forces.
The suspect spread his messages through posts and stories on his Instagram page.
In Sumy region:
The SSU cyber specialists dismantled a scheme of embezzlement of money collected as charity for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The fraudster behind the scam created a Telegram channel in which he posted messages to collect money for Ukrainian military.
However, through mobile banking applications he appropriated the money received from citizens. He forged electronic bank receipts and posted them to disguise the thefts.
The thief has been detained and notified of suspicion.
The SSU documents all facts of such unlawful activity to hold the culprits to account.
