Following SSU’s investigation, court seizes belarusian locomotives, which russia used to transport troops to Ukrainian border
Based on the material submitted by SSU’s cyber experts, the court arrested three diesel locomotives of the state-owned enterprise Belarusian Railways, which were used for transporting occupation troops. The estimated value of the blocked property is over UAH 70 mln (USD 1.9 mln).
Russia used belarusian railway infrastructure to prepare for the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. According to the investigation, the locomotives were used to transport personnel, weapons, military equipment and logistic support assets of the invaders to the northern borders of our country.
Further, these were used in military actions against Ukrainian Defence Forces in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions.
The SSU located the locomotives on the territory of Kyiv region and established that they had been used in crimes against Ukraine.
Currently, the assets are being transferred to the National Agency for Detection, Tracing and Management of Assets Obtained from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA).
The SSU Cyber Security Department has been working on the case under the procedural supervision of Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office and in cooperation with Ukrzaliznytsia [Ukrainian railways].
