Following SSU investigation, FSB agent convicted to prison for adjusting missile strike on Lutsk airfield

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, an FSB agent who adjusted enemy attack on Volyn region in the early days of the full-scale war has been sentenced to prison.

On 24 February 2022, using his coordinates, the russians launched missiles at the military airfield near Lutsk.

After the air attack, the man also passed information to the enemy on the consequences of the hits.

The SSU Counterintelligence detained the traitor in early March 2022.

According to the investigation, this is a 38-year-old musician of the local Philharmonic, who was recruited remotely by the FSB before the start of the full-scale aggression.

Then he came to moscow, met with his russian handler and got instructions from him.

Later, the asset communicated with the FSB through a ‘liaison’, an officer of one of the FSB’s regional offices.

Before the full-scale invasion, the perpetrator covertly walked around the perimeter of the military airfield in Volyn and marked the equipment and facilities on an electronic map.

The agent sent the report to the FSB via a pre-arranged communication channel in the banned social network Vkontakte.

The court found the accused guilty under Article 111.1 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

Given his cooperation with the investigation, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Volyn region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
