In 2021 SSU notifies over 60 organizers of 2014 fake Luhansk region referendum of suspicion
The SSU is exposing and prosecuting individuals involved in crimes against state security in Eastern Ukraine. In 2021, over 60 organizers of the 2014 unconstitutional ‘referendum’ in Luhansk region were notified of suspicion.
The SSU investigations led to conviction of 40 criminals, including the so-called voting station heads and hostile instigators.
Instructed by their handlers, the offenders carried out subversive activities in the East of Ukraine, in particular, organized and facilitated a pseudo-referendum in Luhansk region.
The aim was to give a legal status to the so called LNR militants and violate the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
In addition, in early January 2022 the SSU investigators notified another militants’ accomplice of suspicion. In 2014, IAF leaders appointed her the head of an election commission to hold the illegal ‘referendum’ in Shchastynskyi district.
The pre-trial investigation into trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of illegal activities and prosecute other individuals involved in the crime.
The SSU Main Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out the operations under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office.
