SSU’s chatbot helps destroy hundreds of enemy military vehicles and even several generals - Ilya Vitiuk
The Telegram bot @stop_russian_war_bot, created by the SSU at the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion, received over 100,000 messages from Ukrainians. This helped destroy hundreds of units of enemy military equipment and even eliminate several russian generals.
Ilya Vitiuk, Chief of the SSU Cyber Security Department, briefed about the bot’s work in an interview for the We-Ukraine project.
‘Our bot received over 100,000 reports on the enemy’s movements! We clarified and verified this information through our intelligence capabilities, operators of UAVs and drones, compared it with satellite data and sent it to artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The result is several hundreds of effective hits of large convoys of military equipment, more than one russian general killed,’ Ilya Vitiuk informed.
According to him, such achievements were possible due to courage and resistance of ordinary Ukrainians who risked their lives, took pictures and sent information.
The Chief of the Cyber Department also reminded that this bot could be used to report information on collaborators, crimes related to russia’s fake referenda in the temporarily occupied territories, looting and war crimes. ‘The data immediately gets to investigators. In this way, we together help bring all criminals to account,’ Ilya Vitiuk summed up.
The bot itself ensures anonymity of the user who provides information.
