Following SSU’s investigation, collaborator from ‘Kupiansk interior ministry unit’, who robbed Ukrainians during ‘searches’, sentenced to 13 years in prison

Based on the SSU’s evidence, the court convicted another collaborator who cooperated with the aggressor during the occupation of Kharkiv region. The offender was detained immediately after the liberation of Kupiansk district.

According to the investigation, in August 2022 he voluntarily joined the occupation ‘police station No 2’ in the temporarily occupied community.

As an ‘investigator’, he was engaged in fabricating ‘criminal cases’ against local residents for further imprisonment of such victims in russian torture chambers.

The collaborator, together with the armed occupiers and their accomplices, broke into homes of Ukrainians and robbed them under the pretext of ‘searches’.

During such ‘raids’, the ruscists took money, household appliances and other private property from the residents.

If people resisted, the invaders used weapons or abducted homeowners and their families.

In this way, russians tried to intimidate the population and suppress their resistance to the kremlin regime.

During Kupiansk’s liberation, the collaborator tried to hide and evade justice. The day after the de-occupation, the SSU found and detained him.

According to the investigation, the enemy accomplice is a local resident, a former police officer who retired from the service in 2017 for health reasons.

After the start of russia’s full-scale invasion, he supported the occupiers and, after Kupiansk was captured, joined the invading forces.

Based on the SSU’s evidence, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111-1.7 of the CCU (collaboration) and sentenced him to 13 years in prison with a 10-year disqualification to hold positions in law enforcement agencies.

The SSU emphasises the inevitability of punishment for crimes against Ukraine.

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
