Following SSU’s investigation, traitor, who betrayed Ukraine for a car, sentenced to 13 years behind bars

The SSU has collected irrefutable evidence proving the guilt of another russian agent who conducted sabotage and reconnaissance activities on the eastern front.

On the aggressor’s instructions, he carried out covert visual surveillance and took photos of bases and movement of the Defence Forces.

Primarily, the enemy was interested in accurate coordinates of Ukrainian positions near Severodonetsk.

Later, the occupiers used this information to conduct targeted missile attacks on the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

For such ‘cooperation’, the invaders promised their agent a car that they had stolen from a local resident.

However, the traitor did not get the vehicle - the SSU and the military detained the enemy accomplice during a special operation in March last year.

Based on the SSU’s evidence, the court sentenced him to 13 years in prison.

According to the investigation, the offender is a resident of Severodonetsk. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he was recruited by a serviceman of the 2nd army corps of the Southern military district of the russian armed forces.

To communicate with the ‘handler’, the agent used anonymous messenger apps.

Based on the evidence collected, the court found the accused guilty of high treason (Article 111.1 of the CCU).

The SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out the investigation jointly with the AFU units and the National Police under the supervision of Luhansk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
