After SSU investigation, traitors who prepared missile strikes on DIU special force bases in Kharkiv region sentenced to 15 years in prison
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, members of an FSB agent group that operated in Kharkiv region have been convicted to prison.
Two enemy agents were preparing targeted missile and bomb attacks on the locations of the Defence Forces.
The aggressor intended to strike the temporary bases of the Kraken special purpose unit of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
Hoping to establish the coordinates, the perpetrators rode their bicycles in Kharkiv and its suburbs.
During these trips, they paid special attention to the insignia of Ukrainian defenders and recorded their geolocations to report to the FSB.
The SSU documented the agents’ criminal activity and in August 2023 detained them ‘red-handed’.
Following an investigation by the SSU, the court sentenced the traitors to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The convicted individuals are 19- and 21-year-old unemployed residents of Saltovka residential area in Kharkiv.
After the start of russia’s full-scale invasion, they were recruited remotely by a serving officer of the 1st service of the FSB’s counterintelligence operations department.
The young men came to his attention through their pro-kremlin comments on social media.
Further communication with the two assets was carried out via a pre-arranged anonymous chat in a messenger.
The russian service promised its agents money for their ‘work’. One of them also hoped for assistance from the occupiers in entering the FSB academy in russia.
Based on the evidence, the court found both accused guilty under Articles 28.2, 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed by a group, under martial law).
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
