Following SSU’s investigation, court sentences traitor who spied on Ukrainian artillery positions to 15 years in prison
The SSU has collected irrefutable evidence proving the guilt of another russian agent who passed coordinates of locations of the Defence Forces in Kharkiv region to occupiers.
The informant provided intelligence to the enemy on location of combat positions of Ukrainian ‘Grad’ multiple rocket launchers.
The invaders used the obtained coordinates to prepare targeted missile and artillery strikes.
The SSU detained the offender as a result of counter-intelligence operations in Kharkiv in late March 2022.
The court sentenced him to 15 years in prison based on the findings of the SSU’s investigation.
According to it, the offender is a resident of Luhansk region. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he contacted two russian soldiers with call signs ‘Yasha’ and ‘Ural’ at his own initiative and offered his assistance in the war against Ukraine.
To gather intelligence, the traitor used his friends without their knowledge and also engaged his wife to process media files with coordinates of Ukrainian facilities.
The agent sent the obtained information to the russian servicemen via the Telegram messenger as marks on the Google map.
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, the court found the accused guilty of high treason committed under martial law (Article 111.2 of the CCU).
The SSU emphasizes the inevitability of punishment for crimes against Ukraine.
The SSU Kharkiv Office carried out the investigation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
