Following SSU’s investigation, court seizes Oleh Tsaryov’s UAH 500 mln property

Following the SSU’s investigation, the court seized the real estate of a former member of Ukrainian parliament Oleh Tsaryov, who is involved in financing russia’s armed aggression.

The arrested assets are an apartment in downtown Dnipro, a land plot in Kyiv region, and two property complexes in the temporarily occupied Crimea. The latter are the Kirov health resort and the Duchess Baryatynska estate museum, where Tsaryov is currently living.

The total value of the seized real estate is almost half a billion UAH (USD 13.2 mln).

The blocking of the suspect’s assets will prevent their re-registration to shell companies to evade further confiscation.

According to the investigation, after the occupation of Crimea, Tsaryov re-registered his health resort in accordance with the russian law. He regularly pays ‘taxes’ from the recreational business to the budget of the aggressor state.

Tsaryov also signed a contract with a unit of the russian guard for installation and maintenance of technical security equipment at two of his Crimean properties.

The ex-member of the party of regions pays for these services directly to the accounts of the russian occupation unit, stationed in Crimea.

Based on the evidence, SSU investigators additionally served Tsaryov a notice of suspicion under Article 110-2.3 of the CCU (financing actions committed with the purpose of changing the boundaries of the territory or the state border of Ukraine).

Previously, the SSU had declared him suspect under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The offender is hiding from prosecution in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine. Efforts are underway to bring him to justice for his crimes against Ukraine.

The investigation was conducted by the SSU Offices in Vinnytsia and Ivano-Frankivsk regions under the procedural supervision of Vinnytsia Region Prosecutor’s Office.
