Following SSU investigation, Ukrzaliznytsia employee sentenced to life imprisonment for directing russian strikes on AFU echelons

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, an agent of russia’s federal security service who operated in Dnipropetrovsk region has been convicted to life imprisonment. He was an employee of a local Ukrzaliznytsia [Ukrainian railway] station.

The perpetrator was preparing coordinates for enemy attacks on the military and critical infrastructure of the region.

The targets were railway junctions used for transportation of heavy weapons and ammunition to the front line.

The occupiers were also interested in the areas of concentration of Ukrainian military personnel and equipment.

The SSU Counterintelligence exposed the traitor at an early stage and detained him in January this year after documenting his crimes.

According to the investigation, the 39-year-old railroad employee came to the FSB’s attention because of his comments in pro-kremlin Telegram channels, where he approved of russia’s war against Ukraine.

After remote recruitment, the agent was in contact with an FSB officer whom the investigators have already identified.

During the searches, the SSU seized the suspect’s mobile phone with evidence of the crime.

The court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
