Following SSU’s investigation, court nationalizes russian tycoon’s 500 mln oil and gas assets

Following SBS's investigation, the High Anti-Corruption Court satisfied the claim of the Ministry of Justice to nationalize the Ukrainian assets of sanctioned russian tycoon Eduard Khudainatov.

100% of the businessman’s share in the authorized capital of the Alliance-Ukraine Oil Company worth almost half a billion UAH (USD 13.3 mln) was collected to the Ukrainian budget.

According to the investigation, Khudainatov controlled the Ukrainian oil trading company through some offshore companies and affiliates. In this way, he intended to avoid nationalization of the assets after russia’s full-scale invasion, while still receiving significant profits from the Ukrainian oil and gas market.

However, the SSU identified the beneficial owner.

Moreover, the investigation established that Khudainatov is considered a close confidant of putin, who heads NNK-Group, a russian oil and gas company, and was a member of the Rosneft board of directors.

These two companies are among the largest "sponsors" of the war against Ukraine. They regularly supply fuel and lubricants to the military-industrial complex and occupation groups of russia.

Both companies also transfer billions of rubles to the budget of the aggressor country every month.

The SSU’s investigation initiated under Article 110-2.4 of the CCU (financing of actions committed with the aim of violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or seizure of state power, change of the borders of the territory or state border of Ukraine) is ongoing to bring the russian oligarch to justice for crimes against Ukraine.

The operation was conducted under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General's Office.
