Coordination meeting on problematic issues of tobacco market of Ukraine
During a coordination meeting on the problematic issues of the tobacco market of Ukraine, which took place on February 11 at the initiative of the Security Service of Ukraine, SSU Chairman Ivan Bakanov called on law enforcement, tax and customs officials to introduce joint mechanisms to combat smuggling and the illegal tobacco market.
The head of the Security Service of Ukraine noted that last year alone the Service seized 10 million packs of cigarettes and 91 tons of raw materials for their produc-tion, as well as carried out a number of large-scale operations, including blocking a large criminal group and seizing the largest smuggling of tobacco worth more than UAH 120 million.
