Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine conducted a reso-nant special operation to expose a high-ranking FSB agent in the highest echelons of power. So, today the major general of SSU Valeriy Shaitanov who is suspected of high treason and commission of terrorist acts was de-tained. In particular, on the instructions of the Russian special services, he planned the murder of a well-known volunteer, Adam Osmayev.

According to the case file, Valeriy Shaitanov, who is one of the former heads of the Special Operations Center "A" of the Security Service of Ukraine, was actually the agent under the pseudonym "Bobyl" and con-tacted with FSB Colonel Igor Yegorov. The latter is an employee of the Department of Counterintelligence Operations of the FSB 1 Service - a unit specialising in the planning, organisation and conduct of intelligence and sabotage and terrorist operations in Ukraine and other countries.
