Yurii Zhuravlov was born on May 12, 1973 in the city of Dymytriv (now Myrnohrad), Donetsk region. After receiving vocational education, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He worked in his specialty for 20 years, and in 2014, after the Russian aggression against Ukraine, he joined the SSU.

Immediately after enrolment in the Service, he expressed a desire to go to the ATO area. In total, he went through 19 rotations.

Yurii Zhuravlov died on May 26, 2018 near the village of Zholobok, Luhansk region, during a combat mission from shelling by enemy BMP-1.

Comrades remember Yurii as a reliable blood brother, a brave warrior, and a true patriot of his homeland.

  • Order "For Courage" of I degree (posthumously) (Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 158 of 02.06.2018)

Yuri is survived by his wife and two sons.
