June 1, 2025 – historic date of SSU’s Spiderweb special operation (video)

The world was impressed by the level of Ukrainian mastery, and the occupiers realised: even russia’s deep rear is no longer out of reach. This was not just a strike against the enemy, but an operation unique in its complexity, which has already entered the textbooks of modern military art.

It was carried out on the orders of the President of Ukraine, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and under the direct leadership of Lieutenant General Vasyl Malyuk.

The Spiderweb special operation was prepared for over a year and a half, under conditions of complete secrecy and maximum discretion. Its goal was not only to inflict massive losses but also to shatter the illusion of security that russia had built up over decades.

At a predetermined moment, 117 FPV drones simultaneously attacked the enemy’s strategic aviation at four russian military airfields: Belaya, Dyagilevo, Olenya, and Ivanovo.

As a result, 41 aircraft were destroyed, including Tu-95, Tu-22M3, Tu-160, and A-50, with total damage exceeding USD 7 billion.

The Spiderweb operation was particularly significant because the Security Service destroyed part of russia’s ‘nuclear triad’. The kremlin had used this triad for years to intimidate and blackmail the entire civilised world.

The Security Service of Ukraine continues to systematically destroy high-value targets deep in the enemy’s rear, delivering retribution for russia’s crimes.
