SBU officers blocked the delivery of drugs and psychotropic substances to one of the penal institutions of Cherkasy region.

It was established that the inspector brought to colony drugs for pushing to prisoners. Law-enforcement officers documented illegal actions of the offender during another attempt to bring the "package" to the institution.

Within the framework of a criminal proceeding initiated under Part 2 Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine the inspector was served suspicion notice. The issue of choosing a preventive measure is being settled.

The operation was conducted jointly with the employees of the operative unit of the State Penitentiary Service under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor's Office.
