SBU blocked in Bukovyna activities of the group of persons who have established illegal sale of drugs and psychotropic substances.

Operatives of the special service found that illegal business was organized by the police investigator. He sold amphetamine and cannabis to residents of the region. The offender also involved other law-enforcement officers in the unlawful activity.

Investigator was detained on the suburbs of Chernivtsi city during the sale of the next "dose" of amphetamine to local resident. Within the framework of a criminal proceeding initiated under Part 2 Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the issue of serving to detainee a notice of suspicion and choosing the measure of restraint is being solved.

In order to identify other persons involved in illegal activity, investigative actions are ongoing. The operation was conducted jointly with the investigators of the State Investigative Bureau Regional Office located in Khmelnytskyi city, Internal Security Directorate in Chernivtsi region of the Internal Security Department of the National Police of Ukraine under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
