SBU exposed the regional management of municipal specialized forestry "Halsillis" in organizing the illegal sale of wood and the system receiving of improper advantage.

Operatives of the special service found that officials obliged the heads of subsidiary forestry illegally receive funds from the sale of wood, including unaccounted. Subordinates paid a monthly "tribute" to the management from each cubic meter of wood. In addition, for the illegal sale of wood to the reporting enterprise documents entered false information about the number of cut and sold wood, its sorts and sanitation condition. 

Attackers also created an artificial shortage of wood for its overrating, and appropriated odds, which didn’t reflect in official documents. According to preliminary data during 2019 only organizer of the deal received from heads of forestries more than UAH 5 million of improper advantage. Law-enforcement officers detained one of the heads of the "Halsillis" and the head of the subsidiary in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine on receiving the regular part of the improper advantage. Previously special service operatives documented a number of other facts of receiving bribes by the officials. Within the framework of the investigation of criminal proceedings under Part 3 Art. 191 and Part 3 Article 368, Part 1 Art. 369, Part. 2, Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the issue of serving suspicion note of committing crimes to one of the heads of “Halsillis” and senior management of subsidiary forestries is being settled. The urgent investigative and operative actions on establishing other persons involved in the deal are under way.
