SBU CI Department officers prevented in Kharkiv region illegal export of components for military aviation equipment outside Ukraine.

Operatives and investigators of the special service found that local residents, who are aviation experts, illegally bought accessories and units, including previously used, for L-39 "Albatros" operational trainer. It is in the inventory of over 30 countries. The attackers removed the components from our country with hiding from customs control and used for maintenance of this type of aircraft abroad. 

Law-enforcement officers stopped two involved persons near customs post of “Kharkiv” International Airport. The offenders under the guise of spare car parts tried illegally export to one of the EU-countries components for warcraft, which are the dual-use items.

Currently, the issue of serving notices of suspicion to involved persons under Art. 333 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being settled. The operation was carried out jointly with representatives of the State Border Guard Service and the State Migration Service of Ukraine under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office of Kharkiv region. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
