SBU officers exposed the head of respond section of the patrol police of the district unit in Khmelnytskyi region on obtaining improper advantage.

SBU operatives established that the Police captain extorted USD 1500 from a local businessman. For this amount, the policeman promised to businessman not to bring him to administrative responsibility for the illegal sale of pyrotechnic products and to return the seized goods.

The attacker was detained in the regional center according to Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine after taking USD 500 - the next part of the bribe. The same amount of money was also found during the search in the car of the bribetaker.

Within the framework of a criminal proceeding initiated under Part 3 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the issue of serving to the detainee a notice of suspicion is being settled.

The investigation is under way.

The operation on exposure of the offender was conducted jointly with the detectives of the Territorial Department of State Bureau of Investigations, located in Khmelnytskyi city.
