SBU officers exposed on bribery a chief of the Investigative unit of the National Police district station in Zhytomyr region.

SBU operatives established that lieutenant colonel of police extorted USD 500 from a resident of Rivne region for closing of criminal proceeding on deforestation.

SBU detained the offender on receiving the bribe in Sarny.

Intruder was served a notice of suspicion within the criminal proceeding under Part 3 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Investigative actions are ongoing.

The operation was conducted by officers of the SBU Office in Rivne region jointly with the State Investigative Bureau Territorial Administration located in Khmelnytskyi city, under the procedural supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office.
