Within the framework of counteraction to the shadowing of the economy, the SBU disclosed in Odesa the unlawful mechanism to minimize payments to the state budget through the illegal sale of alcoholic excisable goods.

Operatives of the special service found in region 7 warehouses, where counterfeited alcoholic drinks were stored. Offenders sold products disguised as trademarks of well-known brands with counterfeit excise marks.

During the investigative actions law enforcement officers seized 7.2 thousand litres of counterfeit alcoholic products for UAH 1.3 million and blocked sale of dangerous for the life and health of citizens alcoholic drinks.

Within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated under Part 2 Art. 199 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the investigative actions are under way.

Recording of illegal actions took place under the procedural guidance of Illichivsk local prosecutor's office in conjunction with the Main Directorate of the State Tax Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region.
