SBU exposed officials of the “Irshavaahrolis” state forestry agro-enterprise on systematic bribery for the illegal marketing of valuable wood species.

Operatives of the special service have established that the head of one of the forest plots of the enterprise with the subordinate set up illegal marketing to local merchants of uncounted wood.

Law enforcement officers detained an official while receiving a part of improper advantage - USD 600 for illegally shipped wood. Previously, law enforcement officers documented the receipt of USD 450 by official. In due course of search at the place of residence of one of the involved persons, a large number of labels for wood of the forestry agro-enterprise, which offenders used for illegal legalization of the forest were seized.

One of the offenders was detained under Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine. He was served a notice of suspicion of committing the crime stipulated by Part 3 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of choosing a measure of restraint is being decided. The detection operation was conducted jointly with the State Bureau of Investigations under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Zakarpattya region.
