SBU CI Department officers terminated the activities of the source network of the “DNR” terrorist organisation illegal armed formations, which operated in Lyman district of Donetsk region.

Operatives and investigators of the special service established identities of two terrorists’ sources - residents of Lyman, who collaborated closely with the militants. Both women were instructed in Donetsk, which they allegedly visited on personal business. The curators worked out them tasks, communication channels, and agreed conditional "slang" for transferring data to terrorists.

According to the tasks of curators of the “DNR” reconnaissance and sabotage unit, associates collected and transferred through electronic communication devices, data on the units of the AF Ukraine, their numbers, armament, dislocation places and movement in the JFO area, particularly by rail. Russian mercenaries used received data to plan hostilities and subversions. At the end of last year, in the framework of initiated criminal proceeding, the SBU investigators and CI officers detained one of the sources of militants in Lyman. Now her accomplice has been "joined" her.

During the searches, the law enforcement officers seized the evidences confirming the intelligence activity of detainees in favour of the “DNR” terrorist organization.

Both persons involved in criminal proceedings have been served notices of suspicion of committing a crime, stipulated by Part 1 Art. 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

SBU CI officers also established identities of militants- "curators" with whom detainees collaborated. Their participation in the terrorist organisation activities is being documented in pre-trial investigation under Part 1 Art. 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The detainees were also served notices of suspicion of committing crimes.

The operation to terminate subversive activities was conducted by SBU Office in Zhytomyr region, under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor's Office of Zhytomyr region.
