SBU in the framework of a complex of measures on protection of the critical infrastructure uncovered activities of a criminal group, suspecting of embezzlement of property of the state enterprise of Zaporizzhya region.

Operatives of the special service have established that officials by prior arrangement with the commercial structure organized illegal dismantling and export of the state enterprise equipment. During the deal, the SBU investigators, within the framework of the previously initiated criminal proceedings, have already been arrested this property.

The dealers have ensured the removal of some equipment, including components for rail transport, which is located on the inventory of the enterprise. Then the attackers planned to sell stolen property through controlled commercial structure.

Through the actions of offenders, the state enterprise suffered material damages in especially big amount. The amount of real budget losses will be established by the dedicated experts after a series of relevant examinations.

Law enforcement officers detained four members of the group while attempting to move out from the enterprise sixteen mounted wheels and four trailing devices totalling nearly two and a half million hryvnias.

During the searches on the territory of the plant and at the places of residences of involved persons law enforcement officers seized documents, computer equipment, draft records that will be used as evidence base in criminal proceedings.

In the framework of criminal proceeding initiated under Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the circumstances of the fraud were determined under Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of detention of suspects in the order of Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine and serving of suspicion notes is being settled.

The investigative and operative actions on bringing all offenders involved in the illegal deal to the criminal responsibility are under way.

The operation to expose the offenders was carried with the investigators of the National Police under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
