SBU blocked the large-scale smuggling into our country of veterinary preparations through the “Hrushiv” customs post of Halytska Customs Office.

Operatives of the special service found that businessman from Lviv region tried to move the goods across the state border. Law enforcement officers stopped offender’s vehicle while driving through the "green corridor". During the vehicle inspection, more than 8 thousand tablets of various veterinary preparations totalling nearly UAH 350 thousand were seized.

Products were transported with hiding from customs control without corresponding permits and without payment of customs duties and charges, stipulated by the current legislation. According to preliminary data only since the beginning of the year, this vehicle has already entered territory of Ukraine for six times.

At present possible involvement in illegal activities of the “Hrushiv” customs post officials is being checked. The issue of rendering documents on possible illegal actions of customs officers to the State Bureau of Investigations Territorial Directorate in Lviv city for entering data into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations is also being solved.
