SBU blocks illegal sale of weapons in Mykolaiv. Former AF of Ukraine servicemen are among organizers
SBU officers detected and stopped the illegal activities for the processing, storage and sale of firearms and destruction means in Mykolaiv.
Operatives and investigators of the special service found that illegal production and sale were organized by two dismissed servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the workshop, equipped in the place of residence of one of them, attackers refurnished traumatic weapons into combat for further sale.
During the searches at places of residence of offenders, law enforcement officers found a significant arsenal: 6 TNT blocks with a total weight of 1.6 kg, 3 F-1 hand grenades, 7 pistols, 7 electric detonators, a range of different caliber rounds. Besides, devices for improvised processing of weapons were also seized.
Seized destruction means were sent for ballistic and blast examination.
Currently, the main organizer of the unlawful mechanism is detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine. Within the framework of a criminal proceeding initiated under Part 1 Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine the issue of serving notice of suspicion to him is being settled.
The investigations are ongoing.
The exposing was conducted by the SBU Office in Mykolaiv and Odesa regions under the procedural guidance of the local Prosecutor's Office.
