SBU detains deserter, hiding for 5 years from investigation in Russia
SBU detained ex-official of the Ministry of Interior and former contractor of the State Border Guard Service, who was put on a wanted list for desertion on the proposal of offering bribe to official of the State Migration Service of Zhytomyr region.
In March 2015, a serviceman of Zhytomyr border detachment betrayed the oath – after a vacation he did not return to the place of service and started out for Russia, where he hid from the investigation.
For illegal returning to Ukraine of deserter through the use of fake documents his wife-ex-police officer offered money to the chief specialist of regional unit of the State Migration Service. For three hundred of US dollars, official had to assist spouses in the issuing of fake passport of the citizen of Ukraine and individual tax number with new fundamental data.
To obtain false documents deserter illegally crossed the state border with Russia and arrived on the territory of our country.
Law enforcement officers detained offender and her husband in the unit of the State Migration Service of Zhytomyr region, where they came to receive promised "documents".
Within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated under Part 4 Art. 27 and Part 3 Art. 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine the investigations are ongoing. The operation was conducted by the SBU Office in Zhytomyr region officers with the National Police investigators under the supervision of the regional Prosecutor's Office.
